Nutrition

However it can be a challenge to get all of the nutrients our bodies need through food alone. Pure North can help identify what vital nutrients your body is missing so that you know exactly what your body needs to function at its best.

Stress

Stress is a natural mental and physical reaction to things that happen in our day-to-day lives. Short term, periodic stress can be beneficial and helpful in specific situations. However longer term, continual stress can have serious negative impacts on our health. Identifying effective ways to manage and dissipate stress is an important component of improving overall health.

Exercise

The benefits of exercise are well known – from combatting health conditions and disease to boosting energy, improving mood and getting more restful sleep. Identifying ways to increase activity levels is a crucial step on the path to overall wellness.

Sleep

Adequate sleep is an integral part of a healthy lifestyle and benefits your heart, weight, mind and body. Many studies have shown links between insufficient sleep and serious health problems such as heart disease, diabetes and obesity.

Hydration

More than half your body weight is made up of water. Water is required by every cell, tissue and organ in your body to function properly. Many people don’t recognize when they’re dehydrated and how their body signals its need for more water. For example, mild dehydration is one of the most common causes of daytime fatigue.

Harmful Habits

Smoking and drinking are lifestyle choices that impact the body’s need for vitamins and minerals and can have other negative consequences on overall health and wellbeing. Exposure to cigarette smoke depletes the levels of vitamin C and it increases the rate at which vitamin C and E are eliminated from the body.

Mental Health

A healthy body isn’t much good without a healthy mind. Understanding your mental health is a life-long undertaking; a continual process of learning to contend with anger, grief and stress while fostering resiliency. Through the Pure North program many participants report feeling less depressed and anxious than they were before starting the program.
