ReCode is a protocol created by Neurologist Dr. Dale Bredesen aimed at reversing and preventing cognitive decline. It is applicable for those diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and those who have increased risk factors for developing Alzheimer’s.

After 30 years of research, Dr. Dale Bredesen has created one of the only published protocols showing reversal of mild cognitive impairment and early Alzheimer’s Disease.

Dementia Facts
  • Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia occurring in 60-80% of dementia cases.
  • In 2014 there were 402,000 seniors in Canada living with dementia.
  • Dementia affects 7% of those 65 and older and 25% of those 85 and older.
  • Over 60% of dementia patients are women.
  • Dementia is the third leading cause of death in the US and eighth leading cause of death in Canada.
  • By 2031 it is projected that the total annual health care cost for Canadians with dementia will be double what it was two decades ago increasing from $8.3 billion to $16.6 billion annually.
Initial Intake Includes
  • Full medical intake and health history
  • Cognitive screening (MOCA or Mini-cog assessment)
  • Blood draw for complete panel of tests under Alberta Health + DNA test including ApoE testing
  • Any additional testing appropriate for each individual
  • Nutrition evaluation and consult to start on Ketogenic or keto-flex diet
  • Prescription drug and supplement assessment for potential drug interactions and overview of specific drug changes that might be necessary
  • Physical Exam: Neurologic exam and vitals
  • MRI referral if necessary
  • Neuropsychiatric referral if necessary
  • Recommendations for individualized supplements and intravenous medications to help support neurologic function

Costs

Initial Evaluation: $550
  • 1 ½ hours with Dr Nina
  • 30 minutes with a nurse practitioner
Follow-up Consultations
  • 45 minutes: $227
  • 30 minutes: $138
Labs
Most are covered under Alberta Health, however it may be recommended you have specialized lab testing such as:
  • Urine heavy metal testing
  • Mineral testing
  • Alzheimer’s LINX test
  • Genetic testing fort ApoE and other appropriate markers
  • Stool testing for microbiome balance
  • Lyme disease testing
  • Mycotoxin (mold) testing
  • Essential fatty acid testing
  • Water testing

  • If MRI is deemed necessary, the cost is $695 for MRI + $100 for Neuroreader interpretation
Intravenous Therapies May be Recommended
